7 Days App - Homapage
Step 1: Identifying Stakeholders
Before diving into the technical details of building your web application, it's important to understand the different stakeholders involved. After all, a system is designed for humans, not the other way around.

Start by considering who will be using or interacting with your application. Typically, there are three main groups of stakeholders:
  1. The business owner
  2. The staff who runs the business
  3. The clients who engage with the business

In some projects, there may be additional stakeholders, such as the client's staff, shareholders, coaches, support reps, the legal department, etc. Each of these stakeholders may have different needs, expectations, and requirements that must be met for them to be satisfied with the application.

Take a few minutes to brainstorm and create a comprehensive list of stakeholders.

Even if you are unsure about some of the stakeholders, it's better to err on the side of including them. This list will become clearer as you progress through the project.

With your list in hand, you're ready to move on to the next step.
Step 2-A : What's the Wish List?
Now that you have your Stakeholder list, it's time to fulfill their desires. This is the big picture view of the project.

Dream big, brainstorm as much as you can, and make sure you've included every idea you can think of. This is your Ultimate Goal.
It's okay if you don't end up with everything on your list a few months from now.

Being thorough in this step will bring about three positive outcomes:
  1.  You'll be laying the foundation for your roadmap over the next few months. Keep in mind, what you write down here isn't what you'll be building tomorrow, but what you can expect to develop over time.
  2. You'll avoid limiting yourself with poor technical decisions. By having a clear understanding of the project's future goals and what needs to be built, it'll be easier to set the right foundation.
  3. It's a blast! You get to write a Christmas list for each Stakeholder without any technological constraints. You won't get many opportunities like this later on, so make the most of it while it lasts.

Once you've completed this step, have someone - if not yourself - review the list and highlight any items that may be technically or financially challenging to implement. Remember, challenging doesn't always mean impossible.

At this point, it's crucial to know what won't make it into version 1, so you can either accept it or re-evaluate the project.

And now, for the less exciting part: time to scale back your ambitions.
    Step 2-B : Reality Check
After dreaming big in step 2-A, it's time to get practical and focus on what can be realistically accomplished in Version 1 of your project. This involves prioritizing your ideas and choosing only the most crucial, impactful, and achievable features to start with.

Remember, Version 1 is what you can build and launch quickly, and it might not include every idea on your list, but that's okay. The goal is to get something out there, gather feedback, and improve upon it with each subsequent version.

So, go back to your Dream Outcome list and pick the most critical features and functionalities that will deliver the most value to your stakeholders. This will be your starting point, and you'll iterate and improve from there.

Don't try to tackle everything at once - focus on delivering a great experience for your users and meeting their most pressing needs.

Remember, the goal is to get something out there and start getting feedback, rather than endlessly perfecting an idea that may never see the light of day. So, be strategic and focused as you select what goes into Version 1, and get ready to start building!

As you make your choices, keep in mind that the next step will be to define the mediums, or the channels, where the interaction will take place, such as email, a membership site, or social media. This will inform your decision-making and help ensure that you're building the right thing, in the right place, at the right time.

So be strategic and focused as you select what goes into Version 1, and get ready to start bringing your project to life!
